LG's Bar and Kitchen is a modern Irish American sports bar in the heart of Old Town, Chicago. We use the finest local ingredients for our culinary creations and carry a diverse selection of craft beers and cocktails, paying particular attention to our Irish roots. LG’s prides itself on its welcoming and team-oriented environment that supports all employees. Services include full bar, late-night services, weekend brunch, and a daily food menu. LG’s Kitchen Manager supervises and coordinates activities of food preparation and kitchen employees with the Assistant Kitchen Manager. Job details include preparing food items and ingredients needed for prescribed menu items and in-house recipes, receiving food deliveries, stocking, inventory, and scheduling. The Kitchen Manger must be a team player and maintain good relationships with fellow employees, management, and guests, and must be able to work efficiently in a high-volume and fast-paced environment. Roles and Responsibilities include and are not limited to: Must be able to work weeknights, weekends, and special events/holidays as needed with flexible A.M. and P.M. scheduling Manage employees on the line, prep, expo, and inventory by making sure they are following all operating procedures Manages weekly food inventory and ordering Scheduling employees, covering shifts, purchasing, inventory, and entering invoices Assists the General Manager in planning and executing all sales promotions and menu changes effectively and efficiently Safely use all necessary tools and equipment, including knives Ability to multi-task calmly and collectively in a busy environment Frequently lift and/or move up to 25-50 lbs Effectively communicate in written and spoken language with all staff and management Maintain good standing with food and safety certifications and comply with all safety and sanitation guideline and procedures Understand and follow food allergy procedures and special orders Kitchen Management experience in a high-volume and fast-paced environment is required.
